The story of Bigfoot Mobile Systems is one of engineering passion, real-world problem solving, and a refusal to settle for good enough. What began with one frustrated engineer and a broken AV cart has grown into a company serving some of the most demanding organizations in the world.
A Career Begins
Doug Solis begins his career in the broadcast and film industry, developing hands-on expertise with professional media equipment that would eventually shape the future of mobile workstation design.
Sony Factory Engineer
Doug works as a Sony factory engineer, specializing in VTR (Video Tape Recorder) and camera systems. During this period, he manufactures Emmy award-winning TBCs (Time Base Correctors) and Frame Synchronizers — building deep technical expertise in broadcast signal processing.
Bigfoot Is Born
While doing contract work for the Oakland Raiders and Pixar, Doug grows frustrated with the cheap, inadequate AV carts on the market. He designs the first Bigfoot all-in-one integrated mobile cart — a rugged, professional-grade workstation built to handle real production demands. The first unit is built for the Oakland Raiders.
The Classic Series
After finding wood-based designs insufficient for professional demands, Bigfoot adopts European extruded aluminum framing paired with hi-tech composite panels. The "Classic Series" becomes the flagship product line, setting a new standard for mobile workstation durability and design.
The Digital Revolution
RED digital cameras revolutionize film production. As AV equipment shrinks and workflows evolve, Bigfoot is uniquely positioned to fill the emerging need for new on-set DIT (Digital Imaging Technician) production systems — compact, mobile, and purpose-built for digital workflows.
Multi-Sector Expansion
Bigfoot expands beyond broadcast and film into education, houses of worship, government, and military sectors. Major clients come on board including ESPN, Stanford University, U.S. Army, Amazon, and LinkedIn — proof that Performance Furniture serves professionals in every field.
Formal Incorporation
Bigfoot Mobile Systems, Inc. is formally incorporated in the state of California on June 26, 2015 — solidifying the company's foundation for continued growth and innovation.
Industry-Leading Performance Furniture
Operating under parent company Mobilized Tech Systems from Vacaville, California, Bigfoot Mobile Systems now serves 6+ industry sectors with custom-engineered Performance Furniture. As a SAM-registered federal government vendor, the company continues to design mobile workstations for the most demanding professionals in the world.
